Moosh & Twist New Album 'CRASH'

Moosh & Twist released their latest album, CRASH, on January 19th. The album consists of 12 songs. A few of my personal favorites are "Fucked Up", "Champagne Poppin", and "Tomorrow". The album touches on a mix of love, heartbreak, failures, and growth. The first song, Crash, opens the album up. “But this music is not a thing that I can go live without/people will lend a helping hand just to get some clout/ I think of all the sacrifices when I check the account” Moosh raps on his opening verse. . In the song crash Moosh and Twist open up about difficulties they faced in life. Twist goes on to talk about doubts of his and wishing he had a father figure. The title track “Crash”, which was produced by WaveCutters, rightfully sets the tone for the album. The 12-track body of work takes us on a ride where we feel love, hurt, joy, and the same vibes we felt during the opening song. The LP also features producers like Andrew MeOray, Myles William, Tyler Nicolo, and more. The pair released a new video for the energetic track, “something tells me” October 20th. Moosh & Twist united in California for the Logan Meis directed video. The visual was just as energetic as the track and vibrant. After coming back with a new song and video on Moosh’s birthday, October 20th, the two began dropping new songs weekly. I can honestly say that I’ve had to click repeat for almost every song. There’s a lot of upbeat bangers, let’s not forget to mention the impressive beats and adlibs on songs like “Wit Me”.

There’s also some love-dovey tracks such as “Yah Yah” and “Fallin”. In the beginning of “Fallin”, it is upbeat but then it slows down and we hear beautiful piano keys as the song fades out.

I had an honor to have Moosh answer a few questions regarding CRASH. Moosh answered some questions about videos we can soon expect, deciding on an album name, his favorite tracks, and how it feels now that Crash has been released. Read the Q&A below

ANGELICA: During the process of selecting songs for the album, were there any songs that didn’t make it onto the album?

MOOSH: Yea, so when we’re putting together the project we just write and record, get a bunch of ideas down and while we’re mixing in post production we start to build a theme and overall message of the project. For this one we were very selective so I’d say 8-10 songs recorded over the last few months didn’t make the cut, and they will probably never come out. ANGELICA: What was the creative process behind this body of work like? MOOSH: The creative process for this project was pretty different. Every song on “CRASH” started off as an iPhone voice memo.

ANGELICA: How did you and Twist decide on the album name?

MOOSH: We decided on “CRASH” by just being in a weird place in life. CRASH is about using failure as a positive. You can’t succeed without failure. If I fall 9 Times, I’ll get back up 10. ANGELICA: Which song(s) are you most proud of,why? MOOSH: I’d definitely say “Fucked Up” “Crash” & “Tomorrow” would be my standouts super proud of those.

ANGELICA: Is there a song that we can expect a video for soon?

MOOSH: We shot a video for the song “Fallin” off of the project that’s pretty dope so we may drop it just waiting for the right window, and we’d love to shoot for “Fucked Up”

ANGELICA: Now that the album has been released, how do you two feel?

MOOSH: Putting out an album to us is like sending your kid to college, Dropping it is like graduation but now the project belongs to the people. So now it’s on to the next one, Excited to make more music
