Cassie Previews “Don’t Play It Safe” Music Video

The RNB songstress, Cassie, is making a comeback. Cassie dropped a mixtape, Rockabyebaby, in 2013 but it was highly slept on. The songs on her mixtape did not perform as well as her earlier releases like “Me&U” or “Long Way To Go”. Cassie made an appearance on G Eazy’s “Love A Loser” August of 2017 but fans were not impressed by the collaboration.
“Play It Safe” though, which was released December 21, has been received extremely well, fans are loving it. The song is amazing and reminds us why we love Cassie’s soft and sultry voice. Even more so, the track is reminiscent of Cassie’s earlier work such as “Me&U”.
On “Play It Safe” we get a seductive Cassie who is telling a story about a guy who isn’t “shooting his shot”. Basically, in the song Cassie is saying they both know what they want and the guy should stop waiting.
Cassie sings, “Hard to tell if you wanna stay Don't need an invitation /For moves I want you to make/Coy but, boy, be sure, don't you wait/Swear I want you the same way/Boy, I'll give you the ring”.
The track which Cassie stayed true to her artistry will soon have a video. A short teaser was posted on the RNB singer’s Instagram page. The video has a new feel compared to ones Cassie has released in the past. Which is to be expected but, Cassie appears more edgy. She is seen sitting poolside next to a tiger and then is seen feircly walking down the middle of a street in a longline fur coat and a bodysuit. Then we also get some Aaliyah vibes when the video transitions to Cassie swimming under water.
The official video can be expected to drop Tuesday January 9th. This Kaytranada produced track is everything Cassie needs, fans are loving it. We're expecting this track to pick up enough momentum to chart high on the Billboard hot 100.
