A month ago rapper Meek Mill was sentenced to two to four years for violating probation from his 2008 drug and gun case.
Since being arrested Mill's case has created much discussion about the criminal justice system. Many artists within the hip-hop community such as Jay-Z, T.I. and Boosie have shared similar sentiments that Mill's sentencing is harsh and unfair.
On November 13th Philadelphian's and hip-hop artists such as Rick Ross took to the streets of Philly to rally in protest for the imprisoned rapper.
Meek Mill's attorney, Joe Tacopina, motioned for a bail request but it was denied by Judge Genece Brinkley. Binkley feels that Mill's is a danger to the community in Philadelphia and to himself based off his record of continuous drug usage. Judge Brinkley also stated in the denial that she fears Mill's may be a flight risk.
