Angelica: Could you tell me a little bit about how and why you created Happy Froday?

FroGirlGinny: I created Happy Froday because I felt like there was such a divide amongst naturals with the curl typing and all of that stuff so I wanted women to just come together and embrace their unique differences. There are so many beautiful women on social media and I just want to bring people together to make friends and build together. There is so much power when women come together.

Angelica: Many individuals embrace their natural hair because it symbolizes their roots/identity and also to simply inspire others. What does your afro symbolize for you?

FroGirlGinny: Definitely, I am half Zimbabwean and English so I found when I big chopped I built a connection with my Zimbabwean side. I also felt a connection with influencers such as Angela Davis; at the time not many people had their natural hair so I felt so much power.

Angelica: Did you ever struggle with embracing your afro or have you always loved your natural hair?

FroGirlGinny: I used to relax my hair to hide my curls. Why was I trying to hide something I grew naturally? I am now making up for all those years and learning to love all the unique things my hair does; shrinkage and frizz included!

Angelica: India Arie beautifully said "I am not my hair" do you agree or do you feel as though your hair defines who you are, why or why not?

FroGirlGinny: I am definitely not my hair and although many people recognise me for it; I am growing into the woman I am destined to be and my hair is a part of the journey. Social media is fun but I do not reveal everything about me so that is what keeps the mystery.

Angelica: Do you have any words of wisdom/advice and or additional comments?

FroGirlGinny: Love your hair!
