Maintaining the passion to continue fighting for Black liberation

How do you maintain your desire to end racial disparities?

Is it realistic to still maintain hope when America has still maintained racism?

How do you not let your oppressor exhaust you of your will power to destroy oppression?

Is it ever a foggy view when trying to picture the future in terms of racial equality?

How can one maintain sanity and not be broken by a broken system?

Is the work that we are doing as a Black community enough to finally birth true Black Power?

How do you abolish a system that has been unjustly functioning as is for centuries?

Is true Black Liberation achievable within an American system that seeks to keeps us chained?

How can one breathe easily and enjoy life when the racially driven crimes that were (are) imposed on your own people taunt you?

How do you continue to shout, scream, and yell the concerns of your people when the American system suppresses and delegitimizes your voice?

These questions above are things that I have asked myself on several occasions and some of which I often experience such as trying to enjoy a party or even a car ride without being taunted by America's brutal racial history and thinking of the Blacks who were murdered at the hands of racism. Very often it takes a toll on my well-being.

With a system that attempts to dim the light of the African future we mustn’t let that stifle our desire, our passion, and our power to disassemble then reassemble the American system. The system throughout history has silenced our people and our leaders as well as implemented systems that suppress and repress our Black liberation movements. There of course will be days that this fight for racial justice feels draining but don’t let it exhaust your strength, mental stability, or desire for change.

We unfortunately exist within a system that has captivated Black rights and freedom. Yes, at times it is difficult to see if our efforts to dismantle racism and oppressive systems will pay off but we have to continue striving for equality until we reach Black liberation. Liberation in terms of being free from racism, unjust systems that work against us instead of for us, no longer being institutionalized, and brutalized by police officers, we mean liberation in all aspects. We must continue until all forms and systems of oppression that are imposed on Black people are broken, dismantled, and abolished.

It is important that we, as a people continue to unify ourselves, empower each other, and be in solidarity with one another. It is pertinent to be as cohesive as possible due to the fact that the system desires for us to be against each other and disconnected from one another. The more cohesive we are as a community the more powerful we are as a community.

Continue to resist the current system until racism and white supremacy no longer is exercised and until they are non-existing. When the fight becomes exhausting remember and keep sight of why you are pushing for liberation and racial equality.
